Brian focuses on intellectual property law. As a patent attorney, he prepares and prosecutes patent and trademark applications, counsels businesses on licensing and computer software protection, and performs international patent infringement and validity studies. Brian has significant experience in the areas of vehicle braking technology and computing devices. He also provides guidance to clients on e commerce matters, Internet related software, digital communications, software systems, LED technology, digital and medical imaging, and acoustic ink printing. A member of the Cleveland Bar Association and former chairman of the CBA’s Intellectual Property Committee, Brian is an active member of the American and Cleveland Intellectual Property Law Associations and the American Bar Association. Brian was employed as an engineer between 1987 and 1992. He was an attorney with Fay, Sharpe, Fagan, Minnich & McKee from 1995 to 2001 before joining Calfee as an associate in 2001. He became a partner with the firm in 2005. |
