Experience
Mr. Datto concentrates his practice in commercial and civil litigation, with an emphasis in construction, environmental, insurance and contract claims. He also handles a wide variety of other matters including the representation of banks and financial institutions in matters related to the Uniform Commercial Code. Mr. Datto also has extensive experience handling state and federal criminal defense cases and all aspects of family law.
In 2004, Mr. Datto secured what is reported to be one of the largest jury verdicts in a negligence trial in the historic, Civil War county of Spotsylvania, Virginia. The case gained notoriety in several legal news publications throughout the United States.
In 2006, Mr. Datto again secured a favorable jury ruling in a breach of contract case for three experts who were retained by two law firms in connection with the cases that followed the Three Mile Island accident in 1979.

Professional Activities
Mr. Datto is a member of the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Justinian Society, and is a former barrister in the Temple American Inn of Court, a group designed to improve the skills, professionalism and legal ethics of the bench and bar. Mr. Datto presently serves as a Judge Pro Tempore for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. For the past two years, Mr. Datto has served as the Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Cheltenham Center for the Arts. Mr. Datto also serves on the Board of Directors of the Blue White Scholarship Foundation at Villanova University and for the past four years, has managed a little league baseball team in Cheltenham Township where he resides.

He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Third and Fifth Circuit Courts of Appeal and the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania.
Education
Mr. Datto graduated from Villanova University, cum laude, in 1987. He earned his law degree from Widener University School of Law in 1990. While at Widener, Mr. Datto served as a case note writer for the Delaware Law Forum. |
