Mr. Bret W. Wise joined DENTSPLY in November 2002 as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. He was promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer effective January 2006. In January 2005, Mr. Wise was promoted to Executive Vice President with operating oversight responsibility for two of DENTSPLY's four operating groups including all business units that are sold through distribution in the United States, Europe, and Canada, and the laboratory business units in Europe. In addition, Mr. Wise has direct responsibility for corporate research and development and business development activities.
Prior to joining DENTSPLY, Mr. Wise was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Ferro Corporation of Cleveland, Ohio, a global specialty chemical company, where he also had operating responsibility for Ferro's operations in the Asia Pacific region and global porcelain enamel business. Mr. Wise was also formerly Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of WCI Steel, Inc. of Warren, Ohio, and a partner with the accounting and consulting firm of KPMG.
Mr. Wise holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Indiana University and is a Certified Public Accountant |
