Brent has over 10 years of client advisory experience. His most recent experience relates to assisting companies with financial and operational restructuring initiatives as well as assisting companies with financial statement restatement efforts. In addition Brent has gained experience through assisting lenders with investment analyses in various industries.
Professional Experience
Prior to joining Huron Brent was a Manager in KPMG's Corporate Recovery practice. Brent also held a position with KPMG's assurance practice specializing in financial statement audits of companies in the Consumer and Industrial Businesses industry segment.
Representative examples of Brent's engagement experience include:
Assisted with managing the completion of certain financial statement restatement procedures at a multi-billion dollar manufacturer and distributor of mid-range diesel engines and assembler of heavy-duty trucks including school buses. Brent was responsible for managing more than six subsidiary locations that consisted of a team of more than 20 consultants contractors and Company personnel.
Assisted a financial advisory team at United Airlines focusing on certain analyses and reporting matters required in developing the Plan of Reorganization and complying with the requirements of the court. In addition Brent provided United management with project planning and implementation assistance as part of the company's adoption of fresh start reporting upon emergence from bankruptcy.
On behalf of its lender group through a special-purpose entity designed to facilitate the independent management of the company served as Treasurer of Boston Generating LLC ("BG") which owed its nineteen foreign lenders approximately $1.2 B. Assisted in tracking financial activity at the plants acted as point of contact for various operations and finance staff and acting as the primary lead for the review and approval of cash disbursements.
Assisted a $350 M automotive services franchisor in a complex financial and operational restructuring that ultimately led to the successful refinancing of $172.5 M of bank and private placement debt. Assisted management with the completion of lender due diligence with five different constituencies negotiations with various potential lenders and incumbent debt holders and the preparation for and execution of over 350 property appraisals and Phase I studies. Assisted management with the development of numerous complex and multifaceted contingency plans and operational alternatives.
