Mr. Murphy is a Vice President at Chanin Capital Partners. His experience includes corporate and asset appraisal including debt restructuring, capital structure assessment, extensive valuation, and liquidation analysis. He has executed deals throughout all phases of financial restructurings and represented clients within all levels of the capital structure, both in and out-of-court. Current and recent assignments include Aker Kvaerner, Arlington Hospitality, Global Power Equipment Group, Hampton’s Homes, Kvaerner Pharmaceuticals, NeoplanUSA, Pac-West Telecomm, Pan American Hospital, Performance Transportation Services, Philadelphia Shipyard, Stelco, Supercanal Holdings, Sunterra Europe, Ultimate Electronics, Inc., and WHX Corporation. Prior to joining Chanin Capital Partners, Mr. Murphy worked as a Senior Associate in the Corporate Value Consulting practice of Standard & Poor’s in Houston, Texas. He assisted clients with merger and acquisition advisory and valuation analyses related to bankruptcy/fresh start accounting, financial reporting, government regulatory, litigation, and tax purposes. While at Standard & Poor’s, some of Mr. Murphy’s clients included Babcock & Wilcox, BP, Cornell Companies, Marathon Oil, Reliant Energy, RWE Trading Americas, Orthodontic Centers of America, Shell Oil Company, Southwest Business Corporation and Unilever. Prior to joining Standard & Poor’s, Mr. Murphy was an Analyst in the Global Corporate Finance Group at Enron Corp. He was involved with the management and valuation of securitization vehicles including the evaluation of multi-advance credit facilities impact to cash and book value. Additionally, he was involved in the negotiation and evaluation of complex structured finance transactions including the securitization of diverse international energy assets. Mr. Murphy received a Masters in International Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics in London, England. As a scholar, he was awarded the Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholarship by the Rotary Foundation. He is also a graduate from Vanderbilt University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Business Administration. . |
