Brenda Mixson has been with Island Capital since its inception and serves as Managing Director in its Real Estate Investment and Finance Group. Prior to joining Island, Ms. Mixson was a Managing Director of Insignia Financial Group, Inc., where she focused primarily on Insignia’s securitized real estate debt funds. Prior to joining Insignia, she held a variety of senior executive positions in the real estate finance industry. She was Executive Vice President of Travelers Realty Investment Corp. with responsibilities for a $3 Billion portfolio of commercial real estate and mortgages, COO of one of George Soros’ real estate funds, Managing Director with global responsibilities in Emerging Market finance with ING Barings, and she was CIO and CFO in a start-up commercial mortgage securitization company. Ms. Mixson has served as the CFO of a publicly traded REIT, and she served on the Board of Directors of AvalonBay Apartment Communities, Inc., a NYSE REIT from 1994 to 2001. She has served as a member of the Board of Governors of the Commercial Mortgage Securitization Association. Ms. Mixson received a B.S. in Economics from the University of Minnesota in 1983. |
