Brandt A. Handley serves as Executive Vice President/Managing Director in the firm’s Santa Barbara, California office. He has more than 20 years of experience in senior level management, marketing and sales roles with leading multinational companies. They include executive positions with The Procter & Gamble Company and Walt Disney in EMEA, the Americas and Asia Pacific regions. Mr. Handley is credited with developing start-up operations into successful multimillion-dollar businesses; recruiting top management talent; managing multiple-country sales and marketing groups; negotiating third party partnership, strategic alliance, licensing and retailing agreements; and designing and implementing fundraising and sponsorship programs. He is an accomplished operational and development executive with experience in large corporations, startup enterprises and several non-profit and charitable organizations where he actively volunteers. Prior to joining DHR International, Mr. Handley was the North American Practice Leader of Consumer Products & Services as well as a search generalist in information technology, telecommunications and professional services sectors for a leading international executive search firm. Before that, Mr. Handley was the Managing Director of SeedVest, Inc., a company he founded in 1999 to assist start-up companies in the telecom, entertainment, IT and consumer products industries with recruiting, marketing and sales strategy, fundraising and equity investments. His role with SeedVest is now limited to investments and advisory functions with SeedVest portfolio companies such as Make It Work and TerriG, Inc. both based in Santa Barbara. Prior to founding SeedVest, Mr. Handley spent three years with Somera Communications, a global provider of telecom infrastructure equipment, as their Vice President, International and Chief Marketing Officer. Before that he was with The Walt Disney Company for ten years. As a vice president he established Disney’s Entertainment Projects start-up office in Singapore representing the Asia Pacific region. Prior to that, he founded and led Disney’s consumer product licensing and retailing operations in Southeast Asia based out of Singapore. Mr. Handley also spent nine years with The Procter & Gamble Company in international brand management. His last position was marketing director for Singapore and Malaysia. Prior to that, Mr. Handley held several brand management and marketing roles with increasing levels of responsibility in the USA, Latin America and EMEA regions. Born and raised in La Jolla, California, Mr. Handley received his bachelor’s degree, with honors, in international business from the University of Oregon. He completed the Advanced Management Program in 1994 at The Wharton School. He is a Trustee at the Laguna Blanca School in Santa Barbara where his children attend. He is also on the board of directors for Direct Relief International, a global medical assistance non-profit organization, and is a former YPO member. |
