Bradley P. Beecher, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer - Electric, joined The Empire District Electric Company in 2001 as General Manager of Energy Supply and was elected Vice President - Energy Supply in April 2001. He was elected to his current position in June 2006. Before returning to Empire in 2001, he was the Associate Director of Marketing and Strategic Planning for Black & Veatch's Energy E&C Division. Beecher originally began work for Empire in May 1988 as a Staff Engineer at the Riverton Power Plant. In November 1990, he was named Production Staff Specialist and in 1993 became Director of Production Planning. In November 1995, Beecher was named to the position of Director of Strategic Planning.
A native of northwest Kansas, Mr. Beecher graduated from Kansas State University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. He is a registered professional engineer in the State of Kansas.
Mr. Beecher serves as Chairman of the Joplin Museum Complex. He is also on the Joplin Parks and Storm Water Sales Tax Oversight Committee and is a member of the Kiwanis Club. |
