Brad joined The Home Depot in April 2004 as senior vice president of Corporate Communications and External Affairs. He is responsible for global corporate communications as well as associate communications community affairs executive communications events management public relations store communications The Homer Fund and The Home Depot Foundation.
Prior to joining The Home Depot Brad served as senior vice president of Corporate Communications at Gateway Inc. In that capacity he was responsible for leading the company’s corporate communications employee communications community relations crisis preparedness and response product publicity and event management activities worldwide. Brad was also responsible for the activation of the company’s Olympic sponsorship during the 2002 Salt Lake City Games.
During the six years before joining Gateway Brad held a variety of communications positions for The Pepsi-Cola Company including director Worldwide Communications and senior manager Communications in North America. He also served in account management roles for both Ketchum Public Relations and Doremus Public Relations in New York.
In addition to being a member of The Home Depot’s Diversity and Inclusion Council and chair of its Corporate Social & Environmental Responsibility Council Brad was recently appointed to the national board of Hands On Network. Hands On Network is a network of 55 national and international volunteer organizations that act as entrepreneurial civic action centers. He also serves on the boards of The Homer Fund and KABOOM!. The Homer Fund is an associate-funded nonprofit that provides short-term assistance to associates who encounter hardship due to catastrophic circumstances and scholarships to children of associates. KABOOM! is a nonprofit organization that links communities and corporations together to provide children with safe accessible play spaces.
In addition to these notable community service organizations Brad chairs the Coordinating Committee for the Business Roundtable’s Partnership for Disaster Response Task Force which promotes coordination of disaster response and recovery efforts as well as long-term rebuilding initiatives and offers expertise to support communities and relief organizations.
Brad is a member of The Arthur W. Page Society an organization for senior public relations and corporate communications executives and has served on the board of directors of the San Diego Chamber of Commerce. Brad holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Washington and Lee University in Lexington Virginia.
