Brad Ohrt was hired to assist in the Dolphins’ strength and conditioning program on February 19, 2007.
Ohrt embarks on his initial foray into the NFL ranks following a two-year stint as director of strength and conditioning at Western Kentucky from 2005-06. He also held that same position at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette from 2002-05.
Ohrt’s first full-time position was as head strength coach at Wingate (N.C.) University from 1997-98. He was named as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at USC in 1998, where he remained through 2001 before taking on the role as coordinator of strength and conditioning at Western Carolina, a position he held for one season.
Ohrt was a three-year letterman as an offensive lineman at Appalachian State, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science in 1994. He then served as a graduate assistant at the University of Kansas from 1995-97, where he earned his master’s degree in sports administration in 1997. A native of New Ulm, Minnesota, Ohrt attended Sebring (Fla.) High School. He resides in South Florida with his wife, Ashley. |
