Bob Roth brings to Cornerstone more than 25 years of experience managing and directing all aspects of information technology departments, including vendor relations, contract management and budgeting. Bob’s experience in the financial services, banking and retail industries has provided him with a keen awareness of best practices in IT security and business continuity as well as a strong knowledge of working with outside regulatory agencies. Prior to joining Cornerstone, Bob was Information Technology Director/CIO for $8 billion Capitol Federal Savings Bank, Topeka, KS, where he led the department through a total refresh of the bank’s IT infrastructure, a project involving 17 vendors with a total cost of $7.2 million. Bob helped the bank become its own disaster recovery provider with the construction of a backup data center. He strengthened the bank’s security umbrella with the installation of data encryption over the wide area network, intrusion detection and firewalls and the establishment of regular vulnerability assessments. As IT Director he significantly improved compliance with FFEIC standards, resulting in enhanced relations with regulators and improved ratings. Before Capitol Federal, Bob was Technical Services Director at Payless Shoesource, managing three Payless Data Centers as well as the Help Desk and Production Control departments. Before Payless, Bob served as Programming Manager for 1st National Bank in Topeka. In this capacity, he was responsible for all of 1st National’s systems as well as those for the EDP custom processing clients of the bank. Bob is certified by the Disaster Recovery Institute as a Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP). He holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Computer Science from Washburn University, Topeka, KS; a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Baker University, Baldwin City, KS; and is working toward an MBA at Washburn. |
