Bob Hurley is responsible for establishing a clear direction and vision for Hurley International, a Nike, Inc. subsidiary, which has approximately 350 employees internationally. Bob oversees all aspects of the Hurley brand, including product development and design, advertising and marketing.
Before joining Nike, Bob was owner of Hurley Surfboards from 1979 to 1983. He served as president of Billabong USA from 1983 to 1999, and as president of Hurley International from 1999 to 2002.
Bob was named Costa Mesa Business Person of the Year in 1997. When he is not at the Hurley offices, he enjoys surfing and spending time with his family.
The coolest thing about working for Nike, according to Bob, is the company’s commitment to innovation, design and people. One of the hardest things to get in life is an idea, he said. I think it’s a gift to have an idea, and to be able to see it to fruition, and not always have the barometer be how much can we get for it right this second. |
