Blake B. Bogrett founded Rim Enterprises, LLC, a startup company involved in commercializing innovative technologies. Rim was incorporated in 2004, has submitted its first patent application and is currently seeking US and foreign marketing and distribution partners for a proprietary line of DIY landscape products. Rim Enterprises partners with Value Innovations, Inc. Bogrett leads sections of Vi’s Mastering Value Innovation Workshops including: rank ordering, pricing, and conjoint analysis. He developed, and demonstrates, Slalom®, an MS Excel template that creates value curves in real time. Blake has been a project team member on value innovation consulting projects for Chevron and Ingersoll-Rand. Prior to forming Rim, Bogrett held several positions at Johns Manville, A Berkshire Hathaway Company (1990-2004). As Project Manager in the Building Insulation Division, he led numerous teams responsible for commercializing innovative building products.One project, EasyFit is an insulation product that allows for the installation of fiberglass batts without requiring the use of a knife. In its first full year of commercialization, EasyFit accounted for over $50 million in sales in the retail and residential markets. Bogrett was responsible for overall project management including technology development, marketing strategy, product development from concept to commercialization, sales support and training, intellectual property strategy and senior management updates. Bogrett was an early champion of Stage Gate within JM and led the corporate / worldwide development and implementation of JET, Johns Manville’s Stage Gate system. This included the development of a web enabled software system, corporate wide training and project coaching. Bogrett also led the turnaround of a $30million business from multi million dollar losses to 15% IFO margins. By focusing on customer requirements and reducing costs accordingly. Bogrett was also tasked with turning around a JM startup business. This business had one competitor and was struggling with limited US sales. Bogrett’s international efforts led to the turnaround and eventual successful sale of this business.Prior to joining JM, Bogrett was a field engineer with Welex, a Halliburton company (1983 to 1988). Here he co-developed a coal seam gas model that helped lead to the evaluation and commercialization of coal seam natural gas fields in Southern Colorado. Bogrett has 8 issued patents, 20 patents pending, and is a Design for Six Sigma Black Belt. His undergraduate engineering degree is from Colorado School of Mines and his MBA is from The University of Denver. Bogrett is married to Jane and they have 2 children, Danielle and Jared. |
