Billy sees himself as a particular kind of writer/librarian of the archives of capital, in relation to a socializing nonprofit mission statement. He has been an accountant for nonprofits like Forests Forever, California State Oriental [sic] Medical Association, Architectural Foundation of San Francisco and San Francisco Psychoanalytic Institute; and for-profit companies like Salesforce.com and Industry Standard magazine. Before reconfiguring as an accountant, he worked several years as a counselor/advocate for queer and transgender survivors of violence. He also worked a stint as a youth HIV/AIDS health educator. At Berkeley he majored in Genetics, but rarely attended class because he was focused on student activism. Later he obsessively appeared in classes on queer/feminist studies, race/ethnic studies, French philosophy and psychoanalysis. While he calculates, he worries about the calculation/fracturing of the human, the animal and nature -whatever these may be. |
