Billie Cook is a member of Seward & Kissel’s Investment Management Group. She joined the firm in 1988 and became Counsel in 2002.
Ms. Cook advises clients on numerous issues relating to the formation and on-going operation of private investment funds (domestic and offshore), separately managed accounts, SEC and state registered investment advisers, broker dealers, commodity pool operators and commodity trading advisors. She has extensive experience in various compliance issues including fund placement, soft dollars, performance advertising, hot issues, trading and allocation practices, privacy regulations, employment issues and general corporate and securities matters.
Before joining the firm, Ms. Cook was a broker at several futures commission merchants and institutional bond brokerage firms in New York City. She has also acted as general counsel to a registered investment adviser managing numerous private investment funds as well as institutional and private accounts.
Ms. Cook received an A.B. degree from Vassar College, an M.A. degree from Columbia University and a J.D. degree (cum laude) from Seton Hall University School of Law. |
