Bill S. White, ARM is a Senior Vice President and Partner at Woodruff-Sawyer. For over 25 years Bill has provided risk management and insurance counsel to companies of all sizes, ranging from start-ups to multi-national firms. He is widely recognized for his expertise in the areas of Directors & Officers and Private Equity Management Liability insurance. Bill founded Woodruff-Sawyer s Private Equity Practice in 2001 and helps to design and implement insurance solutions for venture and private equity firms and their portfolio companies. Bill recently assumed the role of Leader for the firm s Corporate & Executive Protection Practice and is responsible for providing vision and strategic focus for the group. Bill has spoken on D&O Liability Insurance for the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) and both the Idaho and Florida chapters of the Risk and Insurance Managers Society (RIMS). He has participated in panel discussions on the topic of D&O Insurance and Securities Litigation presented in partnership with firms including Brobeck Phleger & Harrison, Deloitte & Touche, Cooley Godward and Heller Ehrman. Most recently, Bill discussed IPO-related litigation exposures on a panel sponsored by Merrill Lynch and Wilson Sonsini. Bill has been a speaker on Venture Capital Management Liability Insurance for the Atlanta Venture Forum, the JP Morgan Private Equity CFO Conference, the VC Task Force and VC Expert Access, a series hosted by PWC. He has presented at conferences including the Private Equity Analyst General Partner Summit, the Mid & Western States Private Equity CFO Conference and the IBF Early Stage Venture Investing Conference. Bill was also a presenter at VCAP Summit II , an internal conference put on by Chubb Insurance Group for its most senior private equity underwriters. Bill serves as an instructor for Woodruff-Sawyer & Co. employee and client training sessions. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for Woodruff-Sawyer s Employee Stock Ownership Plan. Bill received his BA degree from San Diego State University in 1977. He received his Accredited Advisor of Insurance (AAI) designation from the Insurance Institute of America in 1985 and his Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation in 1987. |
