Mr. Robertson has held various positions in both television operations and manufacturing, starting in various post production, cable and MMDS operations during college. Through the early 90s Mr. Robertson held positions of increasing responsibility in the Dynatech Video Group, notably Vice-president of Engineering for the Cable Products Group and Vice-president of Division MarComm. After leaving Dynatech he worked as Vice-president of Engineering for StarNet Development designing MPEG based video servers and commercial inserters. In 1996 he co-founded FrontLine Communications to develop products for the emerging EAS requirements in cable television. The company eventually became Vela Broadcast/System Division where Mr. Robertson held the title of President until leaving in 2002. At that time Mr. Robertson, joined Acterna (the parent of da Vinci Systems) as the VP Global Marketing, a role that shortly thereafter expanded to include International Sales. In 2004, Mr. Robertson was asked to take the helm of da Vinci Systems where he currently serves as Vice-President and General Manager. Mr. Robertson holds a BSEE from the University of Utah and is a sustaining member of the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE). In addition he has given a number of presentations to a host of SCTE, Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) and Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) chapters and events. |
