A co-founder of VeraSun in 2001 Mr. Honnef served as Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing managing ethanol sales and overseeing the development of the company's distribution logistics and E85 strategies.
In his current role Mr. Honnef is responsible for the company's industry relations and governmental and policy initiatives having testified before the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee on the impact of the Energy Policy Act of 2005. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the American Coalition for Ethanol (ACE) an industry trade association and SunEthanol Inc. a cellulosic ethanol company.
Mr. Honnef also oversees VeraSun's marketing and communications functions and leads the pursuit of the company's strategic alliances including those established with General Motors and Ford Motor Company.
Prior to VeraSun Mr. Honnef was the President and co-founder of ExpressGold.com served as Regional Vice President of Sales for American Express after beginning his career with the Marriott Corporation in 1988. Honnef holds a BA degree in Information Systems from Indiana University of Pennsylvania where in 2000 he was recognized as the Eberly School of Business and Information Entrepreneur of the Year. |
