William graduated in 1991 from Lake City Community College with an AS degree in Landscape Golf Course Technology and Design. In 1994 he graduated with a BS in Landscape Design and Management from FAMU in Tallahassee, Florida.
In June 1994, Bill was hired by government of St. Kitts, West Indies and a private company to complete two projects. The first project was to design, restore and supervise the Batik of St. Kitts and the second project was to design & landscape the hotel grounds of the Fort Thomas Hotel. The project took three months to complete, and proved to be a huge success!
After graduation he was hired as Estimator/Designer with one of the largest landscape contracting firms and nurseries in Tallahassee. Within a year he was named Vice President and continued to work for another 4 years until he decided to make a change.
With over 20 years of experience working in the landscape industry, Bill decided to relocate to Sanibel Island, Florida where he grew up, and founded Southern Tradition Landscape Contracting, Inc. in January 1998. Bill is actively involved in the preservation and beautification of Sanibel Island. In 2000 he joined the Sanibel Beautification Committee and is working with the community and city to improve Sanibel naturally. In May 2006, Bill was awarded a framed artist's representation of the S - Four Corners Project.
Bill primarily handles all the Sanibel and Captiva accounts. In addition, he works with some repeat clients for both commercial and residential work and assists with all other projects by co-managing as needed.
Bill currently resides in South Fort Myers with his wife, Dawn, and three children: Jonathan, Justin and Kaitlyn. |
