Bill Bain is chief technology officer for PlanetOut Inc. and leads the company’s technology organization. His responsibilities include engineering operations quality assurance and project management.
Bill is a seasoned technology executive with more than 20 years of experience with both Fortune 500 and early stage start-up companies. Prior to joining PlanetOut Bill was principal of his own firm TechPoint Associates a San Francisco-based technology consulting firm. He was previously chief technology officer of HomeGain the second-most trafficked web site in the real estate sector. As a partner of NewVantage Partners Bill led consulting engagements at Toyota and IndyMac Bank. He also co-founded as chief operating officer the real estate transaction management firm that developed Dealtrack for Homestore (now Move.com) which has since been implemented by the California Association of Realtors.
Bill was also chief technology officer and a co-founder of MedChannel a highly integrated healthcare industry solutions network. He served as senior vice president and director of Re-engineering for PaineWebber as well as chief technology officer for The Boston Company a subsidiary of American Express.
Bill holds a Ph.D. in computer science from Yale University a Master of Science degree in computer science from Yale University and a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from Yale University. |
