Bettina M. Whyte is managing director and head of the Special Situations Group at MBIA Insurance Corporation, based at its headquarters in Armonk, New York. MBIA, an NYSE company, is the world leader in credit enhancement services and a global provider of fixed-income asset management services.
MBIA formed the Special Situations Group in 2005 with the intent of providing in-house specialists to work with issuers who are experiencing some degree of operational or financial stress. The Special Situations Group focuses on early detection of problems, leading to early remediations, and greater chances of improving credit value and loss prevention.
Ms. Whyte is recognized as an expert in corporate restructuring, working with credits in a variety of industries including municipalities, healthcare, retail, food services, transportation, distribution, manufacturing, telecommunications and energy among others. She is a member of the boards of directors of Amerisure Insurance, Solera Capital, Purdue University (Dean’s Advisory Council) and the St. John’s Law School Advisory Board. She is an adjunct professor of law at Fordham University School of Law. |
