Bette M. Walker 63 is vice president and chief information officer for Delphi Corporation. In this position Walker drives strategic and operational Information Technology activities in support of Delphi's business globally.
Walker is a member of the Delphi Strategy Board the company's top policy-making group and chairs the Information Technology Task Team the company's top Information Technology leadership group which is comprised of 11 Information Technology executives representing all Delphi regions shared services and divisions.
Walker has been with Delphi since 1997 when she joined the organization as the global chief information officer for the company's largest division Delphi Energy & Chassis.
Before joining Delphi Walker worked at AlliedSignal Inc. where she served as the vice president of Information Technology for the Automotive and Aerospace divisions. Prior to AlliedSignal she held several positions with Digital Equipment Corporation including director of Information Technology for Latin America.
Walker earned a bachelor's degree in Business Management from the University of New Hampshire and attended the Executive MBA Program at Boston University. In 2000 she completed the Global Leadership Executive Development Program at Harvard University.
Walker serves on the Research Board Advisory Board of the CIO Executive Council and Oakland University Board of Visitors for the School of Business Administration.
In 2005 she was recognized as one of ComputerWorld's Premiere 100 Information Technology leaders. Delphi's Information Technology organization has been a recipient of four consecutive CIO 100 designations placed 14 in the 2004 InformationWeek 500 ranking of innovative information technology organizations and in January 2005 was designated Best in Class by Computerworld for supply chain management.
