From October 2002 to early December 2003 Ms. Bernard served as President of AT&T where she led more than 50 000 employees within AT&T Business a nearly $27 billion organization serving the needs of 4 million business customers. From April 2001 to October 2002 Ms. Bernard led the 12 000 employees of AT&T Consumer. Prior to joining AT&T Ms. Bernard held senior executive positions with Qwest Communications US WEST and Avirnex Communications Group. She appears for the third consecutive year on Fortune Magazine’s list of "50 Most Powerful Women in Business " where she currently ranks 12th. Ms. Bernard joined BearingPoint’s board of directors in March 2004 and also serves on the boards of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX) a global technology company serving the building systems and aerospace industries URS Corporation (NYSE: URS) an engineering and technical services company and The Principal Financial Group (NYSE: PFG) a global provider of retirement savings investment and insurance products and services company.
