Beth H. Alter is Counsel in Seward & Kissel’s Intellectual Property Practice Group. Ms. Alter has been practicing law since 1994 and joined Seward & Kissel in 2003.
Ms. Alter counsels clients with respect to a wide range of intellectual property issues, including trademark, copyright and unfair competition matters, and protection of the rights of privacy and publicity. Ms. Alter’s practice incorporates all aspects of domestic and international trademark law, including clearance and registration; licensing, transfers and other transactional matters; and policing and enforcement. Ms. Alter also concentrates on practice before the U.S. Copyright Office and on counseling clients with respect to domain name, internet and new media matters. Ms. Alter has advised clients in a wide variety of industries, including financial services, apparel, hotels, food, pharmaceuticals, packaging, computers, and news and entertainment.
Ms. Alter received an A.B. degree, magna cum laude, from Princeton University, and a J.D. degree from Columbia University where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone scholar. Ms. Alter is admitted to practice before the courts of the State of New York, and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. |
