Beth E. Carlson focuses her practice on employment-based immigration issues. She advises employers and has successfully prepared and filed a broad range of petitions with U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services, the U.S. Department of Labor, the U.S. Department of State, as well as numerous U.S. Embassies and Consulates abroad. With respect to temporary work visas, Beth has extensive experience in the preparation of nonimmigrant petitions, including H-1B’s, TN’s, H-2B’s, H-3’s, L-1’s, E-1/2’s, O-1’s, P-1’s and P-3’s. She has also handled and advised employers on issues relating to B-1, F-1 and J-1 status issues. On the permanent residence side, Beth has specific expertise in outstanding researcher petitions. She also handles PERM labor certification applications, multinational manager petitions, national interest waiver petitions, immigrant visa petitions, adjustment of status applications, advance parole applications, employment authorization applications, and re-entry permit applications. In addition to the above, Beth frequently advises clients on I-9 compliance issues. Beth has also negotiated visa-related entry and admissibility issues with U.S. consulates, USCIS border ports-of entry and USCIS District Offices. She regularly advises employers and foreign national employees regarding important travel-related issues, including Special Registration, U.S. VISIT, Visa Waiver, and visa stamp and passport issues. Prior to joining Faegre & Benson, Beth practiced commercial litigation with a large law firm in Minneapolis. She also held judicial clerkships with the Honorable David Fais in Columbus, Ohio and the Honorable Barbara Zucker-Zarett in Morristown, New Jersey.
