Bert McKasy practices in the areas of insurance, corporate law and governmental affairs. He is also a qualified neutral under Rule 114 of the Minnesota Rules of Practice.Prior to joining Lindquist & Vennum, Mr. McKasy was an attorney with Maun & Simon, and vice president of First Trust Company, Trust and Investment Administration (now U.S. Bank Trust). Mr. McKasy's governmental experience includes serving on the following committees as a Member of the Minnesota House of Representatives: Taxes, Judiciary, Banking and Insurance, Commerce, and Transportation. He was also Chief of Staff to Senator David Durenberger in Washington, D.C., and was Minnesota's Commissioner of Commerce, involved in regulation of insurance, banking and securities, in the Arne Carlson administration.Bert McKasy is a member of the LecTec Corporation Board of Directors and is a former director of the American Bank of St. Paul and the North Star Ice Company. Bert is vice chair of the Metropolitan Airports Commission, appointed by Governor Jesse Ventura in 1999 and reappointed by Governor Tim Pawlenty in 2003. |
