Dr. Scholköpf is a Director at the Max Plank Institute for Biological Cybernetics in Tubingen, Germany and an elected member of the Max Plank Society. Dr. Scholköpf was recently appointed Honorary Professor for machine learning at the Technical University in Berlin and has taught at the Humboldt University in Berlin. Dr. Scholköpf won the Prize for Best Scientific Project at the German National Research Center for Computer Science (GMD) and his thesis on Support Vector Machines won the annual dissertation prize of the German Association for Computer Science. In addition, he is a former research scientist at AT&T Bell Labs, GMD-FIRST in Germany, the Australian National University, and Microsoft Research in the United Kingdom.
