Bernard S. Zen Ruffinen is co-founder of the global Heidrick & Struggles' Supply Chain, Transportation Practice, which he leads in EMEA and he is the head of the European CEO & Board Practice. With over fifteen years of line experience in the field of global transportation and supply chain, Bernard specializes in top-level supply chain and procurement positions for global companies. He also concentrates on CEO and Board searches for the global transportation industry, covering the full spectrum from freight management to contract logistics. He is one of a select few search consultants with personal experience leading a 3PL organisation.
Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Bernard was President and CEO of Danzas Latin America, a division of the Deutsche Post World Net group, one of the world's largest third-party logistics service providers. Previously, he was President of the International Division of Brach Van Houten with distribution reaching into Southeast Asia, Latin America and Europe. Before moving to the United States, Bernard was the Director of European Purchasing of Kraft Jacobs Suchard.
Education
Bernard holds a degree in International Economics and Contemporary History from the Graduate Institute of International Studies, University of Geneva, Switzerland.
Additional Information
He did extensive research and published articles on energy supply security and arms control and disarmament for the Ford and Rockefeller Foundations as well as for the Rand Corporation in California.
