Mr. Bareis has over 20 years of proven multidisciplinary experience in all aspects of engineering and operations for companies developing voice, data, and wireless communications equipment. Prior to Preferred Voice, he held Vice President and executive level engineering management positions at innovative companies including MAYAN Networks, AMP Corporation, DNA Enterprises (now TeraForce), PremiseNet, and VCSI (acquired by Philips Electronics). Before his tenure in executive management, Bern spent over twelve years in hardware and software design engineering of digital signal processing, telecommunications, and interactive speech applications. Throughout his career, Bern has been a contributing member of industry standards organizations and is an elected Senior Member of the IEEE. He has been granted 10 patents in technology areas including digital signal processing, speech recognition, wireless, optical networking, IVR, voice/data communications, and xDSL. Mr. Bareis holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering (Eta Kappa Nu) from Southern Methodist University and is a licensed professional engineer. |
