Bernard L. Kleinke has more than 30 years' experience in all phases of intellectual property law, focusing on patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret protection, intellectual property litigation and technology transfer agreements.
Mr. Kleinke's experience includes all aspects of U.S. and international patent, trademark and copyright procurement, patent preparation and prosecution, patent reissue and reexamination, patent appeals and interference practices. He also has had intellectual property litigation experience in patent, trademark, copyright, trade dress, trade secret and unfair competition disputes for both enforcement and defense. He counsels clients in all aspects of intellectual property practice, including intellectual property strategy, technology transfer agreements, and infringement opinions.
Mr. Kleinke is a graduate of DePaul University College of Law with a juris doctorate degree, and a graduate of Northwestern University with a degree in electrical engineering with emphasis in computer science. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the State Bar of California, the San Diego County Bar Association, the San Diego Intellectual Property Law Association, the Association of Business Trial Lawyers, and the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago. He chaired the Patent, Trademark and Copyright Committee of the Chicago Bar Association for three years. He also belongs to the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, the Association of Computer Machinery and the San Diego Venture Group. He currently serves on the Patent Litigation Committee of the Federal Circuit Bar Association.
Mr. Kleinke is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the Court of Appeals for the Fifth, Seventh and Ninth Circuits and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of California, and the Northern and Southern Districts of Illinois. He is registered as a patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. |
