Mr. Sand has served as a Director of MathStar since August 2001. Mr. Sand is Executive Vice President for Business Development, Investor Relations and Secretary at FSI International, Inc., a semiconductor process equipment manufacturer. During his 20-year career at FSI, Mr. Sand has held increasingly responsible positions including worldwide finance, treasury, legal, investor relations, human resources, information systems, facilities, and acquisition activities. Mr. Sand played a key role in three of FSI's acquisitions, one FSI divestiture, three public stock offerings, a private debt placement and various joint venture and technology licensing transactions. In addition to managing FSI's Initial Public Offering process in 1989, Mr. Sand provided guidance to a number of other companies, including Entegris, Inc. and August Technology, as they completed Initial Public Offerings the past few years. He is a 1977 graduate of St. Cloud State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Mr. Sand currently serves on the PPT Vision, Inc. board.
