Benjamin S. Wilner is a Director in the Dispute Advisory and Forensic Services Group. He has extensive litigation advisory, valuation, and general economic & financial services experience as a consultant and academic. His experience encompasses a broad range of industries and has been performed for numerous purposes including antitrust litigation, bankruptcy and reorganizations, business valuations, creditworthiness assessments, intellectual property disputes & valuations, labor, mergers & acquisitions, personal injuries, securities litigations, statistics, and other corporate and litigation related-matters. Dr. Wilner has testified in arbitration, Federal and state court. He also served as an advisor to the United States Department of Defense on competition matters. The many industries Dr. Wilner has served include: agriculture, aircraft telephony, automotive, bakeries, cleaning products, cruise lines, defense, derivatives trading, education, energy, locomotives, mattresses, medical, metals and ores, mortgages, office products, paintballs, pet foods, plastics, prisons, professional sports, promotional products, real estate, satellites, securities, software, synthetic turf, telecommunications, tires, traffic signals, transportation and utilities. Dr. Wilner was the Chief Economist and Vice President of Research and New Product Development at Predictive Analyst Reports. He was also a Senior Economist at LECG. In addition to his consulting work, Dr. Wilner has been an Adjunct Professor of Finance at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management of Northwestern University. His award-winning research has been published and cited in top-tier refereed journals, by governmental agencies (including the National Science Foundation), and in the academic and popular press. He also has received multiple teaching awards. Dr. Wilner has held previous academic appointments at the University of Michigan, the University of Iowa, and the Helsinki School of Economics. He worked as a research assistant for Nobel Laureate Lawrence R. Klein and has been a referee for the American Economic Review, American Real Estate Society, Journal of Finance, Journal of Business, Finance and Accounting, and John Wiley Publishers. Dr. Wilner earned a doctorate in Managerial Economics and Decision Science from Northwestern University s Kellogg School of Management, a Bachelor of Arts (magna cum laude with distinction in major) degree in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, and a General Course degree from the London School of Economics. He is a member of the American Bar Association, American Finance Association and the National Association of Forensic Economists as well as a Research Fellow at the Credit Research Foundation. |
