Benjamin Kerr is an associate of Meyer, Unkovic & Scott and a member of the firm’s Employment Law, Construction Law and Business Litigation Groups. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Kerr worked as an intern at the American Civil Liberties Union. Mr. Kerr is well versed in ERISA litigation matters and has represented multi-employer pension funds in disputes against delinquent contributors. He also represents large corporations, small family owned businesses and individuals in the state and federal courts and in arbitration proceedings. He regularly represents clients in lease disputes, brokers’ liens, land use issues and corporate governance disputes. He also assists insurers and insureds in resolving insurance coverage disputes and counsels clients with respect to a wide variety of contract disputes. Mr. Kerr is committed to providing low-income individuals with pro bono legal services.Mr. Kerr is a presenter for the Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence at the Katz School of Business, where he provides legal advice to entrepreneurs and start-up companies. He co-authored materials presented at the Continuing Legal Education Program entitled Change Orders in Pennsylvania and presented Find it Fast and Free on the Internet, a Continuing Legal Education Program offered by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. Mr. Kerr is also co-author of an article entitled Arbitration: An Overview, published in the September, 2006 edition of Today’s Attorney.Mr. Kerr received his A.A. from Simon’s Rock College of Bard, his B.A. from Syracuse University, graduating Summa Cum Laude, and received his Law Degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 2004. Mr. Kerr is admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar, to the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and to the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania and Allegheny County Bar Associations. |
