Prior to moving to Nashville and teaming up with Taillight in October 2006, Ben Tyson lived in Los Angeles, CA, working with writers, directors, comedians and producers to create, develop and produce television programming. Most recently, Ben worked as a comedy development executive at Fox Broadcasting Company. There, Ben was part of the team responsible for development and production of all half-hour comedy programming for FOX (sitcoms, live action, animation, variety, sketch), managing and nurturing 100+ projects each season. While at Fox, Ben produced and developed ideas for Naked TV 2005, an innovative experiment and alternative method of developing for TV workshopping one act plays in the theater. Pilots Ben worked on include THE LOOP, 'TIL DEATH, FREE RIDE, JULIE RENO: BOUNTY HUNTER and THE WAR AT HOME. Ben has also worked at ABC Television Networks in comedy development, and in the scripted TV packaging department of the ICM Literary and Talent Agency in Beverly Hills. Prior to tackling the TV business, Ben was Manager of Product Development for Ticketmaster.com and led the initiative to bring ticket sales online to sports leagues like the NBA, WNBA & PGA TOUR. Ben also led the first-ever experiment at selling tickets at demand-driven dynamic pricing in 1999 with Major League Baseball clubs on the west coast. Ben worked with Citysearch.Com and opened 25 new local cityguide markets in under 1 year during the height of the internet boom. Ben has been a panelist/moderator/judge at the Austin Film Festival and was on the steering committee of YPLA/NineTenths, a Los-Angeles based organization of LA’s best and brightest dedicated to improving urban education. Ben is from Birmingham, Alabama and graduated in 1998 from Princeton’s School of Architecture. He lives in Nashville. |
