Mr. Purser joined FBR in August, 2003 as the Director of Internal Audit. He has held a variety of positions in commercial banking, having run a letter of credit and documentary collections department, sold trade services and cash management products, and worked as a corporate representative on a currency and derivatives trading desk, all for super-regional banks.
In 1993, Mr. Purser joined the FDIC’s Securities, Capital Markets, and Trust Branch, where he wrote supervisory policy, trained examiners, and responded to Congressional inquiries, mostly relating to banks’ use of derivative products. He also served on the Systemic Risk Working Group of the President’s Working Group on Financial Markets, and helped develop the FDIC’s Interest Rate Risk examination procedures.
He has worked in the audit field since 1997, and came to FBR after six years in the Audit Department of a regional bank, where from 2000 to 2003 he served as Director of Internal Audit.
Mr. Purser is a graduate of Duke University.
Mr. Purser reports directly to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors; administratively to the President and COO. |
