Benjamin Boscolo is a principal in CHASENBOSCOLO INJURY LAWYERS, a law firm concentrating its practice in personal injury, workers' compensation and Social Security disability cases. Mr. Boscolo has argued many cases in the highest appellate courts in the District of Columbia and Maryland making and changing laws. He has tried hundreds of jury trials in state and federal courts in Maryland and the District of Columbia and thousands of cases before the state Workers' Compensation agencies in Maryland, the District of Columbia and Virginia. He presently represents professional athletes in workers' compensation and disability matters. Mr. Boscolo is rated "AV" by Martindale-Hubbell. He was named a Law & Politics "Super Lawyer" in Maryland and the District of Columbia in 2006 and 2007. He was named as a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America in 2007. He was inducted into the Maryland Bar Foundation in June, 2004 and was recognized as the Professional Hockey Players Association Workers' Compensation Panel Member of the Year; November, 2003. Mr. Boscolo is a past chair of the Maryland State Bar Association's Section Council on Negligence, Insurance and Workers' Compensation and a present member of the Board of Directors of the Maryland Workers' Compensation Educational Association. He is a designated panel attorney for the National Football League Player's Association, Professional Hockey Players' Association, Major League Soccer Players Association, Women's National Basketball Player's Association and National Hockey League Player's Association. A Member of Maryland Trial Lawyers Association's President's Club, Mr. Boscolo also holds membership in the Prince George's County and District of Columbia Bar Associations. Mr. Boscolo coauthors a chapter in the West treatise on the Law of Professional and Amateur Sports entitled "Professional Athletes and the Law of Workers' Compensation : Rights and Remedies". He has also authored articles and manual chapters for MICPEL, the National Business Institute, Lorman Education Services, Maryland Trial Lawyers Association, Montgomery County Bar Association and the District of Columbia Bar Association. Mr. Boscolo is a frequent lecturer in the field of workers compensation. Mr. Boscolo is a 1986 graduate of the American University's Washington College of Law where he was recognized with the Dean's Award for Professional Responsibility as the outstanding clinical student in his graduating class. He is a 1983 graduate of Lafayette College where he played golf, was a member of the Maroon Key Academic Honor Society and the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Mr. Boscolo graduated from Berlin High School (Connecticut) in 1979. Mr. Boscolo's wife, Shari, is a trial lawyer with the Montgomery County, Maryland law firm of McCarthyWilson. They have three children: twins, Stephen and Alexandra, and Elizabeth. |
