Basil Zirinis joined the Estates and Private Clients Practice Group of Sullivan & Cromwell in 1985 and became a partner of the Firm in 1994. Mr. Zirinis practice involves the representation of individuals and family-controlled businesses in a broad range of legal matters, including domestic and international estate and trust planning, estate administration and litigation. Mr. Zirinis has extensive experience in advising foreign individuals who have significant financial and family connections with the United States, and speaks regularly at international conferences regarding U.S. and international tax and estate planning. He also specializes in trust and estate litigation and has been actively involved in many of the leading such litigations in the last twenty years in the United States and abroad. Most recently, for example, Mr. Zirinis and Sullivan & Cromwell have been counsel in the highly publicized litigation involving Chicago s Pritzker family. Mr. Zirinis has been a Trustee of the Leeds Castle Foundation, a member of the Board of Trustees of the American Foundation for the Blind, and a member of the Committee on Trusts, Estates and Surrogates Courts of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York from 1992 through 1995.
