Mr. Savitz has been in the securities business for over thirty-five years. He began his career in 1965 on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. In 1968 he joined SC Bernstein as a trader, and in 1970 became Head Trader for the State of Connecticut Pension Fund. He joined David L. Babson & Company as Head Trader in 1973, and left in 1980 to become Head Trader for the IBM Pension Fund. Mr. Savitz served as Vice President of Equity Trading at Salomon Brothers starting in 1986, where he was responsible for six groups of securities products. In February of 1989 he became the Manager of Equity Trading for Rockefeller & Co. He then became Head Trader for the Bass Brothers of Fort Worth, Texas in January 1993. In August of 1993 he left to form Furman Selz Prime Trading Group and became Head Equity Trader and Managing Director. Subsequently the firm was acquired by ING Barings, which in turn was acquired by ABN Amro in April 2001. |
