Barry Friefield, CPA, is tax partner at Abalos & Associates, P.C., a full service CPA firm specializing in the small and mid-size business with expertise in the fields of tax planning, profit enhancement, strategic planning and consulting, financials and life planning services. In this position, Barry concentrates his efforts in providing tax and business planning, as well as technology planning for clients, including preparation and review of individual and business tax returns, succession planning and structuring of complex transactions.
He has over 25 years of successful public accounting experience, as well as three years as a technology consultant, providing process improvement strategies, customer relationship strategies, software evaluation, and implementation services for Microsoft Dynamics enterprise software. A Chicago native, Barry graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor of science degree in accountancy from the University of Illinois in 1976 and became a CPA after passing all parts of the CPA exam in one sitting. He was named a certified financial applications specialist (CFAS) for Microsoft Dynamics software in 1999.
Active in a number of civic and charitable organizations, Barry is a member of the Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is a former treasurer of The Presidents Club and former treasurer and Board Member of the Maricopa County Bar Foundation. He was a Paul Harris Fellow for Rotary International Award recipient and is involved in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Barry has also authored articles that have appeared in Taxation for Accountants and Arizona Business Magazine.
He currently resides in Scottsdale, Arizona, with his wife, Judy and their two daughters: Allison and Lindsay. |
