Barry Eckenthal is a partner at Friedman LLP. He has directed audits for a variety of publicly and privately held entities, including broker-dealers, manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, contractors, not for profits, and professional service and real estate companies. Barry is involved in the conduct of due diligence efforts pertaining to business acquisitions, and his experience includes: Representing companies in contested purchase price adjustments Serving as the accountant to fiscal agents to provide various accounting and investigatory services in connection with complex litigation Assisting with and preparing various pro forma scenarios in purchase and sale negotiations In addition, Barry's expertise includes work in the forensic area, where he: Assists in the investigation of companies accused of conducting inappropriate transactions Reports to trustees and creditor committees in bankruptcy cases, and prepares various settlement strategies Barry is the partner-in-charge of quality review for Friedman LLP's New Jersey office and is responsible for all matters involving compliance with accounting and auditing standards. In this capacity, Barry provides technical assistance on various public accounting and auditing matters. He has successfully completed training programs qualifying him as a peer-review team captain. This enables him to conduct reviews of public accounting firms under the practice monitoring program sponsored by the American Institute of CPAs.
