J. Barry Griswell has been Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Company and Principal Life since June of 2006 a director of the Company since 2001 and a Principal Life director since 1998. Prior to that he had been Chairman President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company since 2002 and President and Chief Executive Officer of Principal Life since January 2000. He is a Chartered Life Underwriter a Chartered Financial Consultant and a LIMRA Leadership Institute Fellow. Mr. Griswell is also a director of Herman Miller Inc. a public company that is an office furnishings designer and manufacturer. He is a trustee of Central College and of Berry College. He is Chairman of the Business Committee for the Arts and a board member of the Business Roundtable. He is a trustee of the United Way of America board and Immediate Past Chair of the United Way of America National Tocqueville Council. He is Chairman of the Board of the Company and Principal Life. |
