Barry Frey joined LMA Consulting Group after serving as director of HR for a nationally known, multi-store retail chain for over 12 years. Responsible for all HR systems, policies and programs, he researched, developed and implemented a wide variety of programs and oversaw an increasingly diverse workforce of 800 employees.
At LMA, Barry combines his workplace experience and knowledge of how successful businesses grow and develop their human resources with a deep understanding of human behavior. He has provided HR consultations to hundreds of companies and organizations including family businesses, manufacturing and construction firms, as well as professional associations. His work has included systems and process improvement development, executive recruitment and compensation planning, dealing with the human and legal aspects of reduction in force actions and organizational surveys.
Barry is a past President of the Lancaster County Association for Human Resource Management, and the Lancaster County Business Group on Health, a board member and performance review committee member of the Workforce Investment Board (WIB) of Lancaster County, a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, American Society of Association Executives and the Alban Institute. He is certified to use the 16PFâ and Activity Vector Analysisâ assessment tools and is also certified in Basic Mediation and Conflict Resolution.
A graduate of Millersville University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Barry has received postgraduate training at Franklin & Marshall College in supervisory management, business law, managerial accounting and personnel management. He has been certified as a Senior HR Professional by the Society for Human Resource Management and in basic mediation and conflict resolution by the Lancaster Mediation Center. He was awarded the designation Certified Talent Consultant (CTC) after successfully completing advanced 16PFâ training in Leadership and Succession Planning through the Institute for Personality and Ability Testing (IPAT).
