Barclay Olson is president of Textron's Industrial segment which is comprised of five businesses that manufacture and market branded industrial products worldwide: E-Z-GO, Jacobsen, Greenlee, Kautex and Fluid & Power Group. Olson is a member of Textron's Transformation Leadership Team, comprised of the top 21 executives of the corporation.
Olson was promoted to this position in June 2004 after serving as president of Textron's Tools and Components group for one year. Previously, Olson was president of Textron's Greenlee business, a position he held from August 1995 to June 2003. In his more than 26-year career with Greenlee, Olson held a variety of successive leadership positions spanning a host of disciplines, including vice president of operations, director of operations, director of procurement, manager of distribution and inventory control, plant manager and production manager.
Olson received his BS in Business Management from Northern Illinois University, and attended the Executive Development Program sponsored by Textron and the Harvard Business School. He has continued his education through an executive leadership program at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.
Olson is a director on several Illinois not-for-profit boards including Rockford Health Systems (Rockford Memorial Hospital), Junior Achievement of Rock River Valley, and The Rockford Pro-Am Golf Tournament, which provides financial benefit to local charitable organizations. |
