Dr. Barbara Mazur is responsible for Trait Technologies at Pioneer. In this role, Barbara works to develop, access and provide key technologies and to link these strategic and enabling technologies and intellectual property portfolios across Crop Genetics Research and Development. She also ensures that we maintain a strong focus on external alliances and collaborations to meet our business objectives.
Formerly Director of Genomics and Bioinformatics for the DuPont Agricultural platform, Barbara also led the DuPont Agricultural Biotechnology program from 1988 - 1999. Most recently she had responsibility for leading our Crop Protection Traits discovery program.
Barbara earned her undergraduate degree in Microbiology from the University of California in Los Angeles, and her Ph.D. in Genetics from The Rockefeller University. She was a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Chicago and was a research assistant professor there prior to joining DuPont Central Research. She has served on a number of scientific boards and panels, including the Board on Biology of the National Academy of Sciences. |
