Barbara Z. Sweeney is Senior Vice President and Corporate Secretary of NASD. In this capacity, she serves as liaison to NASD Board members, and is responsible for the agenda of Board and committee meetings, as well the NASD annual meeting. She also coordinates the flow of material/information among the senior staff. Ms. Sweeney began her tenure with NASD's CRD/Public Disclosure Department in November of 1993, and was elected Vice President, NASD Regulation, in January 2000. In this role for the CRD/Public Disclosure Department, she was responsible for all registration processing, including compliance reporting and review for licensing purposes. In addition, she was responsible for the operation of the NASD Public Disclosure Program. Before joining CRD/PD, she was a Product Director for The Nasdaq Stock Market and was responsible for rollout and delivery of all new products to Issuing Firms. Ms. Sweeney has a comprehensive background in the financial services area. Prior to joining NASD, she was Director of Securities Processing for the Federal Home Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac), where she had responsibility for processing activity of all mortgage-backed securities. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Indiana School of Business. |
