Barbara Portwood has practiced in the area of redevelopment and municipal finance since 1981. Barbara has acted as bond counsel for a broad range of municipal financings, from general obligation bonds for public buildings such as city halls and libraries, to tax-increment bonds and structured revenue bonds. She has been involved in the development of real estate both as bond counsel and in connection with the negotiation and drafting of redevelopment agreements. She has been involved in the financing or refinancing of many multifamily housing projects and both commercial and industrial facilities. She has also represented a number of suballocators of low income housing tax credits as well as developers of affordable housing using low income housing tax credits. Barbara is a frequent lecturer on financing topics at National Association of Local Housing Finance Agencies conferences.
