Barbara J. Parsky is vice president of Corporate Communications for Edison International and its subsidiary Southern California Edison the second largest investor-owned regulated electric utility in California. Edison International is also the parent company of Edison Mission Group the company's competitive power generation business that owns and operates independent power production facilities and provides capital and financial services supporting the growth of energy and infrastructure projects and services.
As vice president of Corporate Communications Parsky has overall responsibility for formulating the company's communications strategies media relations; internal and external communications including content and governance of the company’s websites; brand reputation and issues management; and advertising for the corporation.
Before joining Edison International in June 2002 she had her own consulting business where she counseled chairmen and chief executive officers on a variety of industry issues brand reputation crisis programs and opinion leadership campaigns.
Previously she was a partner of Porter Novelli a worldwide public relations agency and general manager of its Los Angeles office. In addition she had a long professional association with the General Electric Company (GE). Throughout her 20-year career there she held several management positions in marketing and strategic communications.
