Barbara B. Frederick is a software developer and entrepreneur who co-founded Stillwater Scientific Instruments to commercialize a combination of hardware innovation with statistical algorithms for resolution enhancement in the scientific instrumentation market. Ms. Frederick has more than ten years of experience in software development, providing a graphical interface for highly specialized digital signal processing algorithms for research applications in electron spectroscopy. Ms. Frederick's Cutting Edge software is a graphical user-friendly front-end for the Razor Library of Bayesian, Maximum Entropy and Maximum Likelihood statistical algorithms for resolution enhancement, smoothing, division, differentiation and nonlinear fitting. This has been developed through a license agreement and a good working relationship with Spectrum Square Associates of Ithaca, NY. Ms. Frederick also brings laboratory experience to her current position, having worked in University laboratories as well as Lancaster Laboratories Inc., a large commercial analytical laboratory. Ms. Frederick earned her BS in Analytical Chemistry from Juniata College.
