Mr. Balakrishnan joined Power Integrations in 1989, and served the company in key engineering, marketing and business management roles before becoming president and COO in April 2001. He was named CEO and appointed to the company's board of directors in January 2002. He is the chief inventor of the company's innovative TOPSwitch® and TinySwitch® technologies and holds more than 100 patents. Mr. Balakrishnan has more than 30 years of engineering, marketing and management experience, including product-line management responsibility in the networking and advanced peripherals group at National Semiconductor Corporation. He holds a M.S.E.E. from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a B.S.E.E. from Bangalore University, India. |
