Balaji Yelamanchili is Senior Vice President and co-General Manager for EMC’s Content Management & Archiving business unit. With 2006 revenues of $11.2 billion and more than 31,000 employees, EMC is the world's leading developer and provider of information infrastructure technology and solutions that enable organizations of all sizes to transform the way they compete and create value from their information.
Based in Cambridge, MA, Balaji has overall responsibility for EMC’s Enterprise Content Management, Collaboration, Compliance, Business Process Management, and Enterprise Archiving offerings. His functional responsibilities include product strategy and management, product development (engineering, QA, and program management), product marketing, and product business development. He reports to Joe Tucci, EMC Chairman, President and CEO.
Balaji was previously the Vice President and General Manager for EMC’s Content Management Software Group (formerly Documentum) where he was responsible for the product strategy, development, and marketing efforts of the company’s best-in-class content management and collaboration products. Earlier, Balaji served as the Vice President of Products for Documentum Inc. with responsibility for product management, technical marketing, and product business development for all of company’s product lines.
Balaji has more than 20 years of development, marketing, and management experience in the software industry. He has strong background and deep work experience in the IT eco systems, and the related products and technologies. Prior to joining Documentum, Balaji served in senior product management and market development roles at Rational Software Corporation (now part of IBM). Before Rational, Balaji worked at Electronic Data Systems (EDS) in a variety of development, marketing, and business development areas in the company’s CAD/CAM/CAE business segment.
Balaji Yelamanchili holds an MS in engineering from Louisiana State University at Baton Rouge and an MBA from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. |
